Purpose
Drawworks is the main part of drilling rig round-trip equipment. The main function is to wind calf line on and off calf wheel, to stop main calf line at following operations during well construction process:- - Stem round trip;
- - Casing pipes running
- - Stem feed to borehole bottom
- - Rotation transmission to rotor
- - Derrick round trip
- - Emergency stem hoisting

Drawworks are completed with drilling bit feed control, auxiliary drawworks. Auxiliary hoist gear provides mast trip at derrick erection and teardown. Drawworks structure allows tools running with simultaneous rotor rotation. The structure implies lubrication and air piping and allows realizing maintenance works. Changeover mechanism is used for gearbox speed and auxiliary brake switching.
