Purpose

Heater with intermediate heat carrier is for oil and oil emulsions heating during transportation through pipelines at oil fields and units.

Heaters production range includes:

  • one-flow PP-1,6; PP-1,6Zh;
  • one-flow with combined fuel PP-1,6-K
  • one-flow with increased heat power PP-4
  • double-flow with increased heat power PP-4D.

Feature and operation of line heaters PP-1,6 / PP-4 and its components

Heater is a cylindrical horizontal vessel with flan bottom. Two flat bottomed fire boxes and two four-row pipe coils are installed in lower part of bottom chamber. In PP-4D, there are 4 four-row coils that provide lower hydraulic resistance. Vessel is filled with liquid heat carrier through overflow reservoir.
Fire boxes are equipped with:
  • gas burners in PP-1,6, PP-4, PP-4D models
  • liquid fuel burners in PP-1,6Zh model,
  • combined burners PP-1,6-K model.
Fuel preparation and feed units for burner units, heat carrier level indicator, ladder, and access platform are mounted inside the vessel.
Heater is situated on frame of welded structure.
Product is transferred to coils and is heated from heat carrier up to 70˚Ñ. Heat carrier temperature equal to +95˚Ñ is maintained by automatics by means of burners power adjustment.

Heater automation system PP-1,6/-4 provides:
  • fuel pressure adjustment before burners;
  • burner ignitor;
  • product temperature maintenance due to burners automatic mode change from high to low combustion and vise versa;
  • fuel feed to burners automatic shutdown with interpretation and storing of primary cause in case of:
    - increasing of gas fuel pressure before burners;
    - reduction of fuel pressure before burners;
    - failure of burners flare;
    - increasing of heat carrier temperature;
    - pressure increasing in product coil.
Automatic control system of SAPN PP type is situated in heated facility, connected to heater by means of wire circuit of 150 – 200 m length.
