In August, 2006 enterprise UPET became a part of IG "Generation". The UPET Company is a manufacturer of the drilling equipment and accumulated experience for more than fifty years in designing and manufacture of the equipment for an oil and gas complex. Nowadays the production of «UPET» is delivered in more than 45 countries all over the world.
Since 1949 the factory has started to produce hook blocks, crown blocks, installations for geological research, installations for drilling of apertures for an explosive material, installation for drilling on rocky breeds and to repair the equipment for oil deposits and factory valves.
In 1950 new shops have been constructed: steel department, forge shop, mechanical-repair assembly shop.
In 1955 at factory mastered the manufacture of installations for seismic and structural drilling: AVB-3x100.
In 1956 – manufacture of pumps and motor-pump blocks for drilling and mineral oil products.
In 1958 – released the manufacture of the first installation for work over and development of wells P-40.
In 1960 manufacture of drilling mobile installation T 50-B with loading on a hook 70 hardware is mastered and depth of drilling to 1200 m.
In 1972 – factory UPET SA celebrated 100 summer anniversary from the date of solemn factory opening.
In 1986 – in mechanical-repair assembly shop modern production technologies were mastered and applied, for example:
- technology of vibrations removal of internal pressure on rods of mud pumps and welded designs;
- technology magnetic facing under arc welding;
- technology of automatic welding in the agent containing CO2;
In 1989 the assortment of production of the factory appended with the beginning of manufacture of drilling locks.
On November 23, 1990 –according to the government decision ¹ 1224, the plant became to be a commercial society UPET SA. In 1991 and 1992 in UPET new departments and services were created: technical, industrial, economic departments, department on sale-export, personnel service and administration, service on synthesis and marketing.
Since 1990 the factory became a member of JSC "ÎÌZ" Russia: except UPET S.A. into the structure of group of the enterprises entered: "Uralmash" (Ekaterinburg), «Izhora factories» (St.-Petersburg), VNIIBT (Moscow) and «Red Sormovo».
In 2003 factory released the first mobile installation by load-carrying capacity of 160 tons.
In 2004 UPET SA became a part ÌNP – Onshore and Offshore Projects which subject activity are oil and sea projects;
In August, 2005 – the beginning of manufacture of installations for work over of wells type TW 32 CA-A3.
Today UPET – is one of the largest factories on manufacture of mobile drilling installations in Europe, it produces:
- installations for drilling of oil and gas wells series TD, capacity from 80 to 650 t loadings on a hook;
- installations for work over and major repairs of oil and gas wells series TP, IC, TW, capacity from 5 to 227 t;
- installations for drilling of wells on water series FA;
- installations for removing of sand from wells on water series ID;
- wide assortment of the drilling equipment: drilling pumps, rotary tables, hook blocks, swivels, draw works, etc.
The enterprise manufactures all scale of turn out production according to the advanced international technical standards, including ISO 9001, API, ANSI, DIN, BS. Also has certificates TUV CERT and API with the use of monograms 4F, 6À, 6D, 7, 7Ê, 8À and 8Ñ. Besides, «UPET» turn out production according to individual inquiries and specifications of the customer and renders the technical help at installation, start in operation and service of the supplied equipment.
